Every life is a story worth sharing.

In 2010 Brandon Stanton created Humans of New York, a photoblog featuring street portraits and interviews collected in New York City. Humans of New York has since attracted a large audience, with over 15 million Facebook followers and 3 million Instagram followers.

Inspired by Humans of New York, humans is the first global album of digital street portraits. On the one hand, it enables people from all corners of the world to share portraits and stories from their own communities. On the other hand, it allows people to discover the world through vivid stories of other people.

humans provides a unique perspective into the daily lives of people from the entire globe, bringing to light stories of struggle, inspiration and joy. It thus fosters human understanding that transcends all borders of space, culture and time.

humans was founded by Alexandru Grigoras and Musa Malik, two students from NYU Shanghai, and Keith Ross, a professor at NYU and NYU Shanghai. In order to nurture and grow the project, humans will be using Kickstarter to raise money in November. We hope you will not only enjoy the humans application, but will also consider supporting the project through Kickstarter.
